I always knew there was something strange about his sister. First of all she avoided going outdoors whenever she possibly could. Also, she always wrote about death, sorrow, greif and dark things like that. She always wore black. Black shoes, shirt pants and balck makeup. It was my friend Cody's older sister. Whenever I went over to his house I looked in the door. Her room was also all balck with black curtains to keep the sunlight out. One day I decided to go over to Cody's. we went into his room and played PS2 for most of the morning. Then we went and had ham sandwiches for lunch. I noticed while we were having sandwiches she was watching me with a cold, hard stare. I looked away because it was freaking me out a little. That day when I left I said bye to Cody and started walking down the sidewalk back to my house. I felt like I was being followed. I turned around and saw Cody's older sister folowing me, except she wasn't normal. Her eyes gleamed with a yellow hatred and she had horns sprouted out of her head. I started running down the sidewalk. I finally made it home. That night as I was sleeping I noticed yellow eyes gleaming in through the window.

My neighbor was really wierd. To start with he had an elephant for a pet in his backyard. He had tons of pickle plants in his garden. He always had tons of Kleenex sticking out of his pocket. In his front lawn he had pirate statues posed as in a battle. He worked at a fire station so he drove his fire truck back and forth from work and home. I mean come on, how much wieder can this guy get? I guees i shouldn't say or the next thing I know he'll have his house shaped like....I don't what.

When I returned from school this evening I went up to my room. My room has a desk in it, a small TV, a bookshelf and of course a bed. The walls are covered with posters of new punk bands like AFI, Green Day, My Chemical Romance and a lot of other bands like that. Any how when I walked in my room and I saw a drum set. The drum set was red and black and had silver rims. I had been taking drum lessons for some while now and finally and had a full size drum set to play on. Immediately, I started assembling the drum set. Then,I took out two drum sticks and started playing the drum beat to Miss Murder by AFI. When my parents got home they said they had bought it as an early birthday present. I thanked them and asked if I could call some friends over the next day, since it was a Saturday. We had been talking about making a punk, emo, screamo, metal, rock band for some time. Finally we woul be able to have that band.

One morning a woke up and got ready for school. I was just about to walk out the door, when I heard a voice, "Where are you going?" It wasn't a creepy voice it is just that I was the only one home. I turned around. I saw my dog looking up at me. I looked at him for a couple minutes. Then, to my surprise, he said, "Where are you going?" I replied, "School," not knowing what to say. He said, this time in a creepy voice," Stay here." I was hypnotized by these words abd couldn't move. His eyes gleamed yellow. I took a step back and fell, tripping over the rug. An evil grin spread across his face and he lunged. I could feel his teeth sinking into my skin, my flesh, my throat. I screamed. I was lying in bed in the middle of the night. Sweat was dripping all over my face. It was just a dream. I looked down beside my bed, where my dog layed. His eyes gleamed yellow and he said, "What's up?' in a creepy voice.

If a reader finishes reading one of my novels I want them to remember the main problem and the characters. Like when they get done reading they can say wow that guy's cool or he's a jerk and so on. I want them to feel good about thje end but a little sad and humorous to. I want the raeder to be able to connect to the story also. Like they can connect to the way they feel about someone, something that happened to them or something they like or like doing. Also, I want it to affect them in some way. LIke I don't want the character to always win, you want something bad to happen to tghe character every now and then.

My Story
It was just supposed to be another ordinary day. My friend Garret and I were going to our local skate park. To start out with my names Seth. I'm about a B-average in school which is pretty good compared to some of my friends. I have blonde hair that goes down to my shoulders and brown eyes. And Garret, he doesn't look like your normal teenage boy. He's got three piercings on his right ear and two on his left. He has got a lip ring, nose ring, and an eyebrow ring. Most of the time he wears black. If its not black than its grey. Oh yeah, and he has a foot tall black Mohawk, which is pretty cool. I never understood how he got his hair to stand up that tall. He told me once that he just used really strong gel. One more thing you should know about him is he has a really, foul mouth. He swears a lot especially when he's angry.
Sometimes I felt bad for him though. First thing is every one always calls him goth and some people are afraid of him, but once you get to know him he's a really nice guy. Second thing is every time he goes under a doorway or goes to get on the bus he has to bend down or his Mohawk will flatten.
I've been friends with Garret for about two years now. We are in the seventh grade which so far has been pretty cool. We first got two know each other by talking about music. We both like all those punk bands like Green Day, My Chemical Romance, AFI, and other bands like that. He plays guitar which he's really good at and I play the drums which I'm okay at. We keep on talking about getting a bass player to have a band.
Anyhow, we went to the skate park one sunny, Saturday afternoon. Once we got there we put on our helmets, elbow pads and knee pads. That's the only time Garret's hair is flattened down and it still looks pretty cool because one side doesn't have anything on it and the other side has hair down past his ears. After we put are stuff on we started grinding on these rails they have there. Then we went to this sick half-pipe which is our favorite place to skate. We take turns going and see who can do better.
It's always hard against Garret since he's like the best skater there and I'm close second so I do have a small chance. Anyhow today I was winning I had just done an invert, then a manual, then a double heel-flip. He tried to do a flip but messed up and fell scraping his left leg. Then, he said every swear you could think of. Right, when I was going for the second time I noticed the sky darken. A cold wind started to whip through the skate park. I just noticed me and Garret were the only ones there. We decided to leave, since we were getting tired and cold anyway. As we were leaving I felt like someone was watching us. I turned around, but no one was there.
We left the park and started walking up the sidewalk. Out of no where jumped this weird zombie-like person. His head was half decayed and as was the rest of his body and you could see some organs in side him or bones sticking out of him. They wore leather jackets and old, baggy, black jeans. Four more jumped out and surrounded us. They drew large knives from out of there leather jackets.
“I got this,” said Garret. He got on his skateboard and did this weird trick. The board instantly changed into this large gun like thing. He aimed it at one of the skeletons and an arrow shot out and stuck in it's head, but it didn't die. Ten seconds later it blew up along with the zombie himself. He did this with the remaining and they all blew up. After he was done he pressed a button on his gun and it turned back into a skateboard.
“Dude, that was freakin' awesome,” I told him. He just shrugged.
“What were those?”
“ Zombies.”
“Like the ones from the movies”
“Sort of. Follow me to this after school club we have and we'll explain everything.”

It was just supposed to be another ordinary day. My friend Garret and I were going to our local skate park. To start out with, my name’s Seth.
Four more jumped out and surrounded us. They drew large knives from out of there leather jackets.
“I got this,” said Garret. He got on his skateboard and did this weird trick. The board instantly changed into this large gun like thing. He aimed it at one of the skeletons and an arrow shot out and stuck in its head, but it didn't die. Ten seconds later it blew up along with the zombie himself. He did this with the remaining and they all blew up. After he was done he pressed a button on his gun and it turned back into a skateboard.
“Dude, that was freakin' awesome,” I told him. He just shrugged.
“What were those?”
“Zombies.”
“Like the ones from the movies”
“Sort of. Follow me to this after school club we have and we'll explain everything.”
When I got home that night I was still thinking about the whole incident today at the skate park. Those zombie things really freaked me out even if it was really cool when Garret fought them. That night I had a nightmare about them stabbing me with their knives.
The next day I followed him after school. There was this old building that was falling apart. Half of the siding was falling off and the roof had a whole bunch of holes in it. Most of the shutters were hanging there half hooked on.
“Doesn't look like much,” Seth said.
“Neither do you,” replied Garret.
We started walking towards the entrance of the old, rundown house. Garret lead the way. When we approached the door Garret opened a flap on the siding of the house. There was a device with a small screen and the numbers one through ten below it. He punched in the numbers 3636. A large metal flap opened up near the ground beside us. It was a staircase leading down into the dark. Garret clapped twice and these blue neon lights appeared heading down the stairway.
“Follow me,” said Garret and we started walking down the steps. About half-way down the steps it turned to the right. Those lead to a big wooden door. Garret pressed a button outside the door which closed the metal flap above us. Then, we walked through the doors.
Immediately, I could smell pizza. I looked around. There were a whole bunch of kids that looked like they were between the ages of eight and sixteen. There was a whole bunch of pizza boxes sitting around and over to the side I noticed a soda fountain. They were all sitting in these really comfortable looking chairs and eating pizza. I couldn't believe that all this was under some old rundown building.
“What's up?” one kid said.
“Want some?' another replied.
I walked over with Garret and grabbed a large piece of pepperoni pizza. Then, I walked over to the soda fountain and poured myself a glass of Mountain Dew. I went back over and sat down in a recliner beside Garret. I started eating and Garret went through door over to the left. Garret came back a few minutes later with a young man.
“Hi, I'm J.P., the club director, founder, and leader. This is a club for kids who have special sight. In other words, certain kids can see these creatures or monsters or whatever you want to call them. The kids who can see them are just born that way, know one knows why certain people can see them. For normal people who can't see them there just like freak accidents. For example, if you and Garret hadn't been able to see them, they would have found you dead, not knowing what happened. Like when car accidents happen. A lot of times it's monsters that cause these accidents. Anyhow, at this club we sort of learn how to fight them and train. So, Garret you can give him the grand tour.”
Garret started walking and I followed him. He showed me everything there was. There was a pool, a climbing wall, a virtual reality training course, a basketball course, an arena, and a real training course. Garret told me about everything and what they were used for.
“The climbing wall, basketball course, and pool are to get us physically fit. The virtual training course is for situations for when we would be fighting monsters. The arena is for when we fight each other in fake, practice battles. The real training course is also for physical strength, but it's also to test how fast we can do it, or how flexible we are or so on. We have to climb stuff, and jump over stuff, and things like that.”
“Do you do this stuff everyday?” I asked.
“No, we do it for a couple days, and then take a break for a couple days, and so on. Most of the time training is pretty relaxed anyway.”
“Sounds fun. So is today just a relaxing day?”
“Yeah, tomorrow we'll start up again. They put us in different groups depending on our skill. You'll be in the new group, since you just started today. After tomorrow they'll see your skill level and decide what group to put you in. Don't worry about. It'll be relaxed and really easy for you.”
“So, can I tell my parents about this?
“No, it's secret.”
The next day after school I went there again with Garret. He typed in his number again and we walked down in. Today they were going to give me my number and I'd have to do all that signing up stuff. I walked in and Garret directed me to J.P.'s office. I went and sat down in a leather chair right in front of his desk. He came in soon afterwards.
“Hey, what's up? I need you to fill out these papers and I need a club number for you. Just fill all these papers out.” He handed me all these papers and I started filling them out. They asked stuff like when I was born, how old I am, medical information and all that stuff. At the bottom there were four little boxes where you write the number you want for your club number. I wrote 3737, so it was like Garret's except it had sevens instead of sixes.
“Here you go,” I said and handed him the papers.
“Thanks,” he replied and then he led me to the basketball court.
“Shoot around here until I send a trainer for you.” I went over to where the basketballs were stacked and grabbed one. There were a couple other kids there too. I figured they were in one of the lower groups. I started shooting from outside the three-point line and I swished most of them. Then, I did some full-court lay-ups which was also pretty easy. I went to the half-court line and worked on my half-court shot. I swished three of them, got five others in, and missed two of them. Then, I walked over to the other kids.
“Want to play a game?” I asked.
“Sure,” one kid replied.
“Full or half?”
“Let's play just half-court.”
“We'll play you three against me.”
“Are you sure, it's not really fair.”
“It's fine, you guys start.”
So, we checked the ball and then we started playing. One kid passed and I immediately stole it, cleared it, and shot. Two points for me. Next time it wasn't as easy they faked me out a couple times, there passing was better, and they scored. Time to get my game on, I thought. We played for ten more minutes when a guy came onto the court.
“Are you Seth?” he said while looking at me.
“Yeah.”
“You're pretty good at basketball.”
“Yeah, I love it.”
“I can see that.”
“We're going to the pool now. I'm going to be watching your performance today.”
“See you guys. Good game.” I was glad I was going to the pool. I was hot and sweaty after the game, if you can call it a game, and now I would go and cool down in the water. I had brought my bathing suit, so I went into the locker room and changed into it. It was a light, grayish color. I walked out and found my trainer. He told me to just get in slowly and get adjusted. I walked over to the side. I hated going in slowly, so I stepped back, ran, and jumped in. The water felt cold at first, by my body adjusted to it quickly.
“Now that you’re in, warm-up by taking two laps down and back. Then, come over to me and I will time you.” I did the first lap slow. Then, I tried going faster on the second lap. To my surprise, I actually went fast. Then, I had him time me. He said I got a pretty good score for beginners.
I went and did the climbing wall after that. I didn't do that well on the climbing wall. I never do. I remember we went to a fitness place one time as a school and I sucked at the climbing wall. He told me to take a break, so I went to the lounge that's where they were eating pizza on the first day. I went and grabbed a Vault out of the cooler. I went and sat on the couch. I turned the TV on and turned it to MTV. This time they were actually playing some music, but it was rap, which I hate, so i turned it. I ended up watching the end of some movie.
He came in and told me I was going to do the virtual reality training course. It sounded sort of cool. I went and put on this helmet with a visor, and then he directed me into this room. He thrust a gun into me hand and hooked a long knife around me waist. They looked real but he told me they were fake. He said he was starting it up and I heard a loud noise. Immediately, the room vanished and I was in a town that looked like it had been destroyed. Fires were everywhere and the streets were in total destruction.
I saw about ten zombies that looked just like the ones I saw with Garret at the skate park. I shot at them with the gun. It fired and I shot down at least five of them. Then, I was pushed onto the ground by something. I looked up and saw a big skeleton like thing. It reminded me of the guy from Ghost Rider without the flames on his head. It had a black, leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders. He had black pants and big black boots on. He even had the chain whip. If you looked into the eyes they burned with hate. This virtual training course was pretty freakin' realistic.
I went to shoot it, but before I could he whipped my gun right out of my hand. I took my knife out. I felt a sharp shock in my back. I just remembered there were zombies still behind me and then everything went black. My eyes opened I couldn't tell how much time went by.
“Hey, you know what happens know if you lose,” my trainer said.
“How long have I been out?”
“Only ten minutes. We're going to the real training course now.”
When we got there it ended up being a large room with tons of obstacles in it. There was things you had to jump across and over. You had to climb things, dodge things and lots of other stuff. My trainer directed me over to this line and told me what to do. Then, he blew a whistle.
Immediately, I took off sprinting. Then, I vaulted over a log that they had pried up. Next, I had to climb up a rope to a higher level. Then, I had to climb across a big gap. It reminded me of the monkey bars I used to do in third grade. I had to jump across a gap and down off a ledge. The last part was that two walls were closing and I had to make it through them before they close all the way. I made it through that too. If the wall starts to close to much on you then they stop it, but that means you failed the course.
“You did phenomenal at that,” my trainer said with awe.
“Thanks,” I replied.
“Now, I want you to train in the arena with a couple other kids.”
“Okay. Who are they?”
“I want you to train with Garret today since you know him so well.”
He brought me to another big room. It reminded me off a hockey rink with an oval arena and seats all around it. Garret was waiting for me with two plastic swords. They reminded me of the ones at stores for little kids to play with. He walked over to me and handed me one of the swords.
“What's up,” he said, “Ready to train?”
“With these plastic swords? Isn't that kid of young for us.” Immediately, he took it and smashed it down on my shoulder. It hurt.
“Still think it's too young?” he asked sarcastically.
We got engaged in a sword battle between the two of us. As it was going on he would tell me tips of how to block, thrust, and stab. He hit me a couple times with it. But, for the most part I did pretty well. We ended after fifteen minutes of sword fighting.
“Not that bad, am I” I said to him.
“I went easy on you.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“I did.”
“Prove it.”
He immediately jabbed at my face. I thought it was his attempt, but it was just a diversion. While I blocked the thrust at my face, he swung his right leg behind my and tripped me, making me fall to the ground hard on my back.
“How's that?”
I just nodded.
He gave me his hand and helped me to my feet. He took my training sword and went and put it away. Then, he went and grabbed these two vests and these guns.
“See these? Tomorrow we will use these and have some target practice while moving. So, be ready tomorrow. Oh yeah, no hard feelings about today, right?”
“No,” I answered.
Then, we grabbed are skateboards and rode back to our houses. We challenged each other different tricks on the way home. Garret lived two houses down from me, so we usually walked or rode our skateboards home together. On the way home I thought of two things.
“Hey, can I get a cool skateboard like yours that turns into a gun?”
“Once you get into the intermediate group, they trust you with weapons outside of the club. That's when you'll be able to get a cool skateboard like mine.”
“Also, do we ever go on missions?”
“No one's had a mission in a long time because there has never been anything really important to do. We pretty much never get monsters around here and when we do there really easy to kill.”
We said goodbye and I went into my house. I went into my room and did my homework. Then, I heard my mom get home. I walked downstairs. I saw her starting to make supper, which was good, 'cause I was starving.
“Hey, mom.”
“Hi, how was this club?”
“Fun, we just hung out, played some basketball, climbed on the climbing wall. What's for dinner, I'm starving.
“I thought we'd have burgers tonight.”
“Okay, then can I have to bacon cheeseburgers.”
“Sure.”
After supper, I played my drums and then listened to Senses Fail, a punk rock band with emo screaming in some songs. They are one of my favorite bands. I wanted to go see them last year but my parents said hat I was too young and I would get hurt. I ended up staying up listening to them until nine-thirty. Then, I listened to Hawthorne Heights, another punk/emo band, which I ended up falling asleep to.
One of my parents must have turned off my music during the night because when I woke up it was turned off. My dad gets home late at night and leaves early in the mornings, so I don't get to see him much. Anyhow, I woke up and got ready for school. Then, I got on the bus and went to school. Then, finally I went to my after school club with Garret. I wanted to do target practice and finally show Garret that I could beat him at something.
Today, I punched in my own number. 3737. The metal flap opened and I walked down in. Garret pushed his number in before it had a chance to close and followed me in. I did all the same things I did yesterday, except today I had target practice in the arena with Garret. We put on these vests and then loaded up these guns with foam darts. It would be fun to use ones that stung a little bit me and Garret thought, but because of safety they wouldn't allow it. Then, Garret walked over to the side of the room and pushed this button. All these obstacles that you could hide behind came up through the floor of the arena.
“Wow, this place is high-tech,” I told Garret.
“Yeah that's what I thought at first, but you get used to it after a while.”
Then, we started to practice. We started on separate ends and when a buzzer went off we started. I ran towards the center quickly to find a place to hide behind, so I was ready to attack if Garret came along. Then, out of nowhere came a dart. It missed me, but now I was ready. I dove behind a barrier that had a small hole to shoot out of. I waited till I saw him. He was hiding behind a barrier directly across from me. There was no way I could shoot him through the little hole, so I aimed up really high and shot. The dart came down behind his barrier, but missed him. I shot again this time it hit him on the back. We continued this for a while. Finally, when we ended, we had both hit each other the same amount of times. I didn't ask him if he thought I was good because I was afraid he say he went easy on me and then pelt be with darts in the face.
The next day was a relaxing day. We sat around in the lounge watching TV and drinking sodas. Garret told me that there was a music and dance room. He showed me it. There was a big dance floor with lights above that shone different colors and moved all around when they were turned on. There was also a strobe light over to side. In front there was a big stereo with giant speakers. I had Senses Fail in my bag, so I grabbed it and played it. Garret and I stated singing along to it and tried to do the emo screams when there were some. That's my kind of music. Punk with emo screams to enrich it. I also don’t mind some of the slow and mellow punk songs.
So, training and relaxing carried on. The training progressively got harder and I was doing so well I ended up catching up with Garret in the advanced group. On some days I didn't come, because I had an after-school basketball program. Nothing else happened much for about two weeks. Then, one day I noticed something. Garret and I were practicing target practice again. We were evenly matched, so we knew each other's tricks by now. This training was different though. We were equipped with fake swords this time in case we ran out of ammo. We ended up both running out and neither of us had been hit by a dart. So, we ended up doing a long sword fight. We blocked and stabbed and dodged. Then, Garret came on me really fast. I started backing up. I couldn't see where I was going and I tripped over a small barrier. I looked up and I was looking up into the eyes of a girl from my school named Jamie. I quickly got up off the ground and turned around to face her.
“Hey, what's up?” she said.
“Nothing much,” I said, “Just practicing.”
“With Garret? He's really good. I've been watching you fight him though and your pretty good yourself.”
“Thanks.”
“If you don't know I'm Jamie and you're Seth, right?”
“Yeah, I've seen you in the halls and you’re in my L.A. class. I didn't know you came here too?”
“While I haven't been coming lately, because I've been doing basketball after school. I heard you were to and the only days we would both be here on the same day would be Friday, but the past two weeks I've gone to my friends' house. Now, my after- school thing is done, so I can come back here again.”
“Yeah, my basketball thing ends tomorrow, then I'll be here everyday of the week. What group are you in?” I asked.
“I'm in the same group as you and Garret,” she told me.
Garret I had forgotten about him. I looked around I didn't see him. Then, I saw him coming back from where he always puts the practice equipment. H must have put the stuff away, since he saw me talking to Jamie. He came back and asked if I was ready to go. I told him I was ready and said by to Jamie. Jamie was so cool. She was really popular at school. She had long, shimmering, brown hair and piercing blue eyes. What I liked about her was even thought she had all the looks she wasn't stuck-up and snobby. She was nice and compassionate.
“Why didn't you tell me she came here?” I asked Garret.
“You didn't ask. Why you got a thing for her?”
“No,” I replied quickly.
“Okay, whatever.”
I didn't say anything else after that. That night when I went home, I couldn't think. All I thought about was today and how Jamie was in the club too. I finally fell asleep that night, but it was really hard for me to. The next morning I went to school and went to the cub like usual, but today it was different at the club. Everyone stared at Garret and me as we walked in the room. We asked what was wrong, but no one answered. Then, J.P. came in the room.
“Hey, I need to talk to you two,” he said. We followed him to his office. As we walked in I saw Jamie already sitting in there. We sat down and J.P. went behind his desk.
“We got a call recently that there is a fifteen-year old they call Spinner, whose raising these monsters to kill all the humans who can't see them. He wants just the people who have this special sight to be in the world and he'll kill anyone that gets in his way. You three are the most experienced, so we want you three to go and kill him and any of the monsters he's breeding. I know this is a big risk for you guys, since you could get killed, but you're the only chance we've got. What do you say?” It wasn't very encouraging, but I really wanted to go off on a mission and fight.
“Okay, I'll do it,” I said.
“Cool,” said J.P, “What about you Garret?”
“I got nothing better to do,” he said in a bored voice.
“Jamie?”
“Sure.”
“Okay. Tell your parents we're going on a field trip and see what they say. You're going to be going to different places in the U.S., but I'm not sure were exactly you're going yet.”
That night when my Mom got home I asked her about it. She didn't sound very approving, but she said alright. I thought about the trip that night wondering where I would be going or what I'd be fighting. That sounded so cool to me fighting weird, devilish monsters with guns and swords. I pictured it all in my mind. Things that looked like demons from Hell being blown up and chopped top pieces.
The next day I told J.P. that it was okay. Garret's and Jamie's parents also said it was okay. He told us we would leave for Orlando, Florida tomorrow since that's where he was breeding things last. He told us all to bring our cell phones, so we could stay in touch. He told us we would take a plane to Orlando and he would get in contact with us once we got there.
This is going to be awesome, I thought. Going to Orlando with Garret and Jamie. That night I packed my bag. I stuffed some clothes in, stuck some CD's in, my cell, and all that other stuff you need when your going on a trip. Then, after school we went to the club and went to the airport. We all called are parents and told them we we're leaving. J.P. gave us all a whole bunch of money to spend. Then, we dropped are luggage off and boarded the plane. We all got three seats next to each other. Garret was beside the window, I was in the middle, and Jamie was on the outside.
The plane was sort of boring at first. Then, we turned on our personal TV's each one of us had. Garret and I watched music videos on a channel I never heard of before and Jamie was watching something on MTV. One thing about J.P. he wasn't cheap. We were watching a band call Atreyu when all they were doing is screaming.
“That's not music. You can't even tell what they're saying.”
Garret shot her a dirty look. One thing you should never do is tell Garret that emo and screamo music isn't music, because he'll get really pissed off.
“Sorry,” she said sarcastically.
“What kind of music do you like?” I asked her.
“I don't mind some of your music when they sing, but mostly I like pop and rap.”
“That music sucks,” Garret said to her.
“It's better than your emo crap,” she said back to him.
Then, they got into a big argument which mainly consisted of Garret swearing every other word. After about ten minutes thing quieted back down, which I'm glad about since people started to turn their heads to see what was going on. The rest of the flight was pretty much in silence. We got a couple snacks to munch on until we got there. Finally, are plane arrived in Orlando and man was that busy. People were all over the place. We went and got are baggage and then checked into are hotel. It was really hot there and I was burning up in pants. I suggested we go out to the pool. They both agreed. So, we all changed into are bathing suits and then went out to the pool. There was a lot of people there but it was a really big pool, so we ended up finding a spot for ourselves. Garret brought his skateboard, so of course he entered the pool by riding his skateboard, jumping, grabbing his skateboard in his hand and landing in the pool. I just ran and jumped into the pool. Jamie just came over to the edge of the pool and hung feet in. Garret and I stared splashing each other and then started wrestling. We had to stop because a life guard came over and told us to. Jamie just laughed. I swam over to Jamie.
“Why don't you get in?” I asked.
“No, I'm fine.”
“Get in,” I said joking around.
“No I'm fine,” she said again. I grabbed her arm and started to pull. I pulled harder.
“Stop,” she said laughing. I pulled and pulled she started to slip off the edge. I gave one last pull and she fell into the water. Then, she called me a couple of bad names, while laughing and then, she started splashing me. So, I splashed her. Then, there were splashes all over the place.
I hadn't noticed Garret he had gotten out of the pool and walked over to the edge. He was just standing there watching us , but I didn't notice. Then, he decided to make things more exciting. He took a couple steps back, ran and jumped. Midway in the jump he yelled and I turned to look. Too late. His hands landed on my shoulders pulling me under.
We decided we had enough pool time today. We went back up to our room and changed out of our wet, bathing suits. We didn't now what to do, since J.P. hadn't called us yet, so we made some popcorn and watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3. It was getting really late and we were starting to doze off. Then, we were all awakened by a loud, heavy music and screams. Garret took out his cell phone.
“Hello.”
“It's J.P. are you guys in Orlando.”
“Yeah, were watching TV.”
“Okay, tomorrow you're going to go to try to find those monsters and kill them. Guess where they are?”
“Where?”
“Sea World.”
Garret told us. Jamie was excited. She wanted to go see the dolphins and the seals. Garret wanted to ride a roller coaster call The Kraken that he heard about on TV. I just thought about how it would be fun going to an amusement park with two of my friends. We went to bed after that. Garret slept on the pull out sofa. I slept in one bed and Jamie slept in the other. Garret said it would be weird if we slept together and of course, Jamie didn't want to sleep with either of us.
We woke up that morning and went J.P. told us we could have fun, but we still had to be on the look out and be ready to fight. We brought a pack that had weapons and stuff in it and Garret had all the money in his wallet. We paid for admission and went in. Immediately, Jamie wanted to go and see all the “cute animals”, as she put it. I told her I'd come with her. Garret told me he was going to go get in line to ride The Kraken. I told him if he saw anything to call on his cell. Finally, Jamie grabbed my arm and pulled me along. I looked back at Garret. He was standing their smirking.
The first animal we saw was the dolphins. Jamie told me she loved dolphins. She loved petting them. I think we were there for almost twenty minutes petting the dolphins. Then, we went to see the seals. She loved watching them too. We went into the penguins after that. Man, was it cold in there. We walked out of there freezing. Then, she saw a sign for the sea otters.
“Aren't they so cute?”
“Yeah,” I answered not knowing what to say because I didn't really think they were cute, but she liked them. About two hours had gone by. Then, we went and got some food. Nothing out of the ordinary yet. We went to the ray exhibit next. We got to touch the rays which was pretty cool. Then, I saw the sign for the shark tunnel. You walk under this tunnel and sharks swim above and beside you.
“Let's go see the sharks,” I said.
“I hate sharks,” she said, “They creep me out.”
“That's okay. You'll be with me.” When I said that she looked at me and smiled and said she would go. Once we got there you step on this walkway that moves you along. We stepped on it and were brought into darkness. Then, it opened up into a big glass tunnel. Sharks swam above and beside us. Jamie grabbed on to my arm. We stood there going through. I was thinking about how much I liked this when of course everything had to go wrong. I saw this half-human, half-fish thing swim by. It was covered in light green scales and had webbed hands and feet. It had long, sharp teeth that stuck out of it's mouth and a long spine that ran down it's back, but it was still human in shape. It saw me staring at it and gave me a malevolent grin.
I pointed it out to Jamie. She breathed in sharply. We immediately ran through the rest of the exhibit. Then, we were searching for the entrance the employees use to enter the shark tank. Jamie wouldn't do it since she was scared of sharks. We found the entrance and I had Jamie stand watch. Then, I put on a scuba diving suit, grabbed my knife and jumped in. I spotted the creature and started swimming after it. It saw me and gave a high-pitched shriek and came swimming straight at me. No one else would have seen the creature just me down in the tank. They all probably thought I was someone who worked there. The knife I was using they couldn't even see. It was special and only people like me could see it.
The thing pounced on me when it got near to me. Good thing we were in a back corner where not many people could see us or people would be wondering what the heck was going on. The thing started tearing savagely with its teeth and claws. I started hacking at it with my knife. Its skin was really thick. Finally, I broke through its scales and started to tear at the flesh, but unfortunately it did the same to me. Then, we started punching and kicking and everything we could to hurt one another. Finally, when it opened it's mouth one and drove my knife up through his jaw and ripped it out. It didn't do anything else after that except float to the bottom of the tank.
I quickly got out and took off the scuba diving suit. I noticed I had some small scrapes along my face and a large gash that was bleeding pretty well. We quickly ran out of the employees’ only part and went to search for Garret. Jamie kept on asking if I was okay and bandaged up my shoulder.
We walked over to the ride section o the park. I immediately saw the Kraken. We saw Garret just getting on. Then, I saw one of those human-fish things sneak in behind him. I yelled, but Garret didn't hear me. I saw the creature leaning forward. As if he knew it was coming he turned around, knife in hand and severed the creature's head. Then, he enjoyed the rest of the ride. After that, we walked around the park again for awhile. We didn't see any other creatures. We called J.P. on his since he has a special device that can locate the creatures. He said there was one more in the park and it looked pretty big from what he could tell. As we were walking around we saw a sign for Shamu.
“Let's go see Shamu,” Jamie said. Garret and I eventually decided to go. We went and sat right up front because Garret said if we were going to see this we're going to make it exciting. So the show started and everything went fine. We got soaked though. We were about to leave when we heard something. It sounded like something hissing. We went over to the side of the tank and looked in. Shamu was in there, but he didn't look normal.
He still looked the same in shape, but his teeth were sharper and longer. I was thinking about how easy those would be to rip right through me. Also, its eyes burned yellow. The freakiest thing was that he was half decayed. Parts of his flesh were falling off and you could see some of its bones sticking through.
“How come we didn't notice that during the show?” I asked.
“It must have just turned into one. J.P. told me that, that Spinner guy could disease regular animals to make them become these creatures. So, Spinner could have diseased it and it hasn't affected it until now.”
“So how are we going to kill it?” Jamie asked.
“We will have to get n the tank,” I said. “Garret you’re the strongest, throw me and Jamie in.”
He grabbed on to me and spun me around and threw me in. Then, he did the same with Jamie. We landed in the water and tried not to make a lot of commotion, so people wouldn't notice. The beast immediately swam toward us, its jaws gaping widely, wanting to devour us. We took out are knives and got ready as we were treading water. When the beast cane, he hacked away at it violently. It didn't do any god, it was already dead. Garret saw that it wasn't working and grabbed the gun out of the bag. Then, he took aim. Bang! The first shot missed. He swore under his breath. The beast was advancing on us quickly. Garret aimed again. Bang! He was successful this time. The possessed whale blew into millions of pieces. No one noticed anything except a couple of kids in the tank. The called the staff and hey got us out. We just told them some lunatic threw us in. Garret luckily had fled the scene and was waiting for us outside. We left the park and went back to our hotel. The, I thought of something.
“If the whale was diseased before, then how did J.P. find it on his device thing?” I asked Garret.
“He must have just picked up the disease that infected the whale.” For the rest of that night we got some supper and then hung out around our hotel room. Then, we went to bed. In the morning we called J.P.
“Did we kill of the things?” Garret asked.
“Yep, now you're going to go to Minneapolis. Take a plane there after you leave your hotel and call when you get there. Okay?”
“Okay.”
So, we checked out of our hotel, went to the airport and got a flight to Minneapolis. The flight there was more enjoyable than the last one. Jamie and Garret didn't fight in this one and everything went fine. We landed and then went to a hotel. That hotel had an inside pool that we went to that night. We called J.P. after we went to the pool and got something to eat.
“I've found out where they are. They're at the Mall of America, which is where you'll be going tomorrow. So call me again tomorrow evening. Bye.”
“Bye.”
“We're going to the Mall of America,” Garret told us.
Jamie was also excited at this. She loves shopping and now we're going to the biggest mall which she's always wanted to go to. We went to bed and then got up the next morning. We had a taxi driver bring us there. It was giant. I couldn't believe how big it was. We walked in side. Millions of people were in the crowd. Jamie immediately saw some fashion store she wanted to go into. Lucky for me and Garret there was a Hot Topic right next door, so we went in there. It was the largest Hot Topic we had ever been in.
We walked into the sound of blaring heavy metal and screamo. I walked around seeing what they had. I saw a black coat that looked like a straightjacket and some T-shirts of bands I like. I saw wallets, chains and jewelry. Then, I went and looked at CD's. I ended up buying the CD of a band called Escape The Fate and a Senses Fail T-shirt. Garret bought a couple CD's and some shirts. We talked to a couple of other kids are age that were in there and then we left.
We went and found Jamie in the store beside us. He immediately came over and started asking about which shirt she should buy and a whole bunch of other questions. She ended up buying a striped pink and black one, since that's what me and Garret said we liked the best. The other ones were green and blue. When we left there we walked up the mall. Jamie found like a million other stores that she wanted to go to and she went in to most of them, dragging me and Garret in behind. Then, we went to the food court, which was the biggest one I have ever seen. We ended up going to BK. That mall had lots of other things to a roller coaster, a shark tank, a Ferris wheel and lots other things. We ended up going on the roller coaster and Ferris wheel. We went to a couple other stores too. Then, Garret and I saw a Spencers. We decided to go to it and Jamie went to another store. But, when we were entering it, five punk zombies came out.
And I mean they were punks. They were have decayed, but they wore lather jackets and pants, studded belts. And on there heads they had all these sharp bones sticking out of there skulls hat looked like liberty spikes. We followed them and sneak up behind them, but that didn't work. Right when we were about to stab them, they turned around and gave us both a blow to the cheek. They hit so hard I thought they were wearing brass knuckles, but they weren’t, it was just their bones. Then, two of the other ones jumped on us and started beating us up. We were getting beat up pretty badly when the things fell dead on top off us. We pushed them off then we saw Jamie in a battle with another zombie. Another one was lying dead on the ground near us, but wear was the other one.
Out of nowhere jumped the other zombie. It landed on top of Garret. I took out my knife and stabbed as many times as I could in the back. It wasn't killing it. It turned around, grabbed my knife and threw it away from me. Then, an idea came to me. I don't know why, it just did. Anyway, I broke off one of the sharp bones growing out of its head and stabbed it into it's eye socket. Immediately, the head burst into flames and soon the whole body was engulfed by flames.
Jamie was still battling. They were dueling with knifes. The only thing was Jamie had one knife and the zombie had two. Jamie was doing really well though. Then, she managed to cut off the zombies left hand. Then, the zombie looked really mad. It started swinging its knife around crazily and advanced on her murderously. She started backing up and then she threw her knife. It was almost in slow motion as I watched the knife fly threw the air and land in its eye socket. Then, it burst into flames. Then, I noticed its left hand crawling along the floor. It started crawling towards Garret's leg. I pointed it out to him and he stomped on it and squashed it under his foot. We knew it wasn't going to bother us when we heard a loud snap. Garret lifted his foot and the hand moved no more.
“Well we know what kind of things are here,” I said.
“Yeah, the question is, are there any left?” Garret said.
“Call and find out.”
So, Garret called that's all there was here that he could tell. He said to go inspect around a little more and see if we saw anything. So, we walked the mall back and forth a couple of times, but we didn't see anything. That is not until we were leaving.
We walked out the main entrance at nine o'clock and heard a scuffling above us. We turned and we saw something. We didn't know what it was at first in the dark, and then Jamie whispered in my ear that it was a werewolf. It wasn't a werewolf with fur though. It had light grayish skin and it was stretched so tight that you could see certain bones through it. Then, the head was really narrow and long and full of teeth. Saliva flew from its mouth as it growled at us. Then, it jumped from the ledge it was on.
Garret dodged and drew out his knife. He stuck his knife into its back which stuck in there and he couldn't pull out. That didn't kill it. It jumped on Garret who immediately countered by kicking it in the face. It gave a malevolent growl that sent shivers up my spine and started snapping at his throat, but he managed to hold the beast away far enough, so it couldn't rip his throat. Then, I grabbed the gun. I heard that silver bullets kill werewolves, so I searched in the bag while Garret held off the monster. I finally found what looked like a silver bullet.
When I was about to load the gun, I dropped the bullet. It didn’t help that it was dark out and I could hardly see a thing. I got down on my hands and knees and started feeling the ground for it. Garret was still managing to hold it far enough away. Jamie was also helping hold it away. It raised its hand. The claws on it were really sharp ad long. It swung its arm. Garret tried to dodge, but it still got him across the chest. He screamed. Finally, I found the bullet. I loaded the gun.
“Watch out,” I yelled. They jumped out of the way and I shot. Blood exploded out of the beats chest and it gave one last, shrill howl before it fell dead on the ground. Garret and Jamie stood up from when they dived on the ground. Garret’s clothes were soaked with blood along with his face. He was looking at himself disgustingly. Jamie just had a couple spots.
“Gross,” Jamie said. I just stood there watching them not knowing what to say, since they did look petty gross. We went back to the hotel where Jamie took a shower and then Garret took a really long shower. Jamie and I sat on the couch watching TV. Then, she did something I didn't expect her to do. She leaned her head on my shoulder and sort of cuddled up next to me. We were like that for a while. Then, Garret came out.
“Well, what have we here,” he said with a grin on his face.
“What?” Jamie and I said together.
“You two cuddled up together on the couch?”
“What we can't sit close too each other as friends?” Jamie retaliated.
“I think you've got more then friendship on your mind,” Garret said, still smirking. Jamie and I just went back to watching TV. Garret came and sat down next to me.
“Can I cuddle up with you too?” Garret said in a girly voice. That was Garret, being smart about everything. He didn't cuddle up with me of course. He just sat down beside me and watched TV with us. That night all three of us fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up Jamie was still asleep with her head on my shoulder, but Garret wasn't there. I woke Jamie up and told her that Garret wasn't here. We went downstairs into the lobby where we found him. This hotel had a continental breakfast which he was eating. He saw us and waved. We walked over to where he was eating a waffle and even some strips of bacon.
“What, you couldn’t wake us up,” I asked Garret.
“I would have, but you looked so cute together.”
“Shut up,” I told him. He just smirked. So, Jamie and I want and got something to eat. I wasn’t that hungry I just grabbed a cup of orange juice and a couple strips of bacon and went and sat down with Garret. When we were all done eating, we called J.P.
“Is there anything left at the mall?” Garret asked.”
“Not that I can see. How are guys doing? Not bloodied up to bad I hope.”
“No, we’re fine. Got a few scratches here and there, but otherwise we’re fine.”
“Okay, Garret and Seth you’re going to love where you are going next. Jamie you’re not going to be as happy. You’re going to go to the Austin, Texas and that’s where the Warped Tour is going to be right at the time you guys are there. You guys can go, but like I said before you’ve got to still watch for anything unusual.”
“Aren’t the tickets going to be sold out?” Garret asked.
“I manage to reserve three tickets for you guys.”
“Okay, we’ll call if we see or fight anything.”
“This is going to be awesome,” I said to Garret.
“Oh yeah,” he replied. Jamie just groaned.
So, we went back into our room, got our stuff, checked out, and went n a plane to Austin, Texas. The ride was long. We all fell asleep at different times during the ride because we were so tired from the past two experiences we’ve had. We got there and when we stepped outside we immediately felt scorching heat. We went to our hotel which had an awesome pool with a waterslide. We immediately went inside and changed into our bathing suits and went into the pool. We didn’t have to force Jamie in this time. She came in gladly, since it was so hot. Garret and I went down the waterslide tons of times. We eventually went back to the room because Garret and I got thrown off the waterslide because we didn’t “obey the rules.” We didn’t do anything that bad. We just went down backwards one time, face first one time, and Garret stood up on time. Okay, maybe the last one was a bad idea.
Then, we left the hotel to go have a look around. We found a couple stores we went into. We went to one of those information centers to find out when the Warped Tour was exactly. It was two days away. So, we had a day before to do whatever we wanted. We walked around some more and went to some more stores. Then, we went back to the hotel. We didn’t now what to do, since we were sick of watching TV every night. We ended up finding stereo and blared our music really loud. I listened to my new CD I got. It was really good. It was a mixture of punk, emo and heavy metal. Then, we got a complaint about that being to loud. You couldn’t do anything in this hotel. We left to go get something to eat.
We ended up going to Applebee’s. We had to wait a while for a table, since the place was so crowded. Then, we went in and sat down. Then, we had to wait a while to order our food. Anyhow, while we were there I saw this guy in a corner staring at me. I couldn’t see his face he was wearing a black hood, so big that it covered up his face. It made me really uncomfortable. We left right after we ate. I looked back. His hood was off now. His hair was slicked back. His eyes glowed yellow and he gave me this really eerie grin. I turned away quickly.
“Let’s get back to the hotel quick,” I said. There was something about this person; he was different from the other things we fought. We went back to the hotel and went to bed early. We were going to get up the next day and go do some things, since we had a day before the concert. I thought about the guy at Applebee’s. His glowing eyes. His eerie grin. I just noticed something that I hadn’t before. His teeth were unnaturally sharp and long. Then, it hit me. He looked just like a vampire. That night I was sure we were going to get murdered in our sleep by it, but that didn’t happen. That night went fine. We woke up the next morning and went down to the lobby.
We went down and ate breakfast. Then, we looked at the brochures to see what there was to do. We ended up going to a beach. The taxi drive wasn’t fun though, since it took about two hours to get there. The beach was really nice though. The sand was super soft under your bare feet and the water was warm. Jamie ended up buying a beach chair, since we didn’t bring one with us and Garret and I rented to surf boards to go surfing. So, while Jamie was tanning, Garret and I were surfing for the first time. It was really fun once you got the hang of it. Garret and I were still the worst surfers there, but we improved a lot throughout our time there. By the end of the day, we actually managed to stay on our surfboards as we hit bigger waves.
As, it got closer to night we left and went to a snack bar that was up at the start of the beach. I got one of my favorite meals, a bacon double-cheeseburger. Then, I got a side of fries and drowned them in vinegar. I lot of people say that’s disgusting, but I love vinegar on my fries. I also had a Pepsi to drink. Garret didn’t eat that much, only a thing of fries and a Monster. Jamie had a small pizza and some lemonade. After that, we got in a taxi and left to go home.
On the drive home we all started dozing off, but when the driver brought us there, he yelled at us to get out, which woke us up very quick. We started walking up the path to the hotel, when a cloaked figure jumped out, the same one who was in Applebee’s the other night. He gave us a sinister look and drew out this long, skinny sword. Garret and Jamie took out their knives and started fighting it. They told me to go into the flower gardens around the hotel and look for a stake. I looked everywhere for one. I kept looking back to see how Jamie and Garret were doing. They were still managing to hold him off, but I could tell they were getting tired out.
Finally, I managed to find one. I ripped it out of the ground and ran over to the battle. I threw the stake at his chest from behind. As if he could see out of the back of his head he dodged and it almost hit Garret in the shoulder.
“Hey, watch it,” he yelled. The vampire lunged at me, but Jamie got in the way and started battling again. I ran to retrieve the stake. I grabbed it off the ground. Garret was out of the way, but Jamie wasn’t. Then, the vampire knocked her down to the ground and her knife went flying. I aimed the spear at his chest again. He jumped high into the air, ready to come down on Jamie as she lay vulnerable on the ground. I threw the stake. As the vampire was coming down it hit him in the chest, right where his heart would be. Immediately on impact, the vampire disintegrated.
We went into the hotel and went to bed to be ready for tomorrow. We were going to have to get up really early to get a good spot, in order see the band really well.
The next morning Garret was the first one up as usual. He woke Jamie and me up and we got ready. Garret was wearing a T-shirt of The Used and I was wearing my Senses Fail T-shirt. Jamie just wore her pink and black striped shirt. Then, we got a cab and told him where to go. We saw the stages and also saw quite a few people in line. We went right over and got our reserved tickets and then went and got in line. We waited there for a couple hours, and then finally they started taking tickets.
We tried to get right up where the front of the stage was. Garret and I did anyway. Jamie didn’t want to be in the craziness, so she stayed back a ways. Garret and I got close to the front, but we still weren’t at the very front. The first band that came out was Escape The Fate. The CD I just bought the other day. It got really crazy up there. Everyone was jumping around and shoving each other. Then, a mosh pit got going. They were really crazy. The people in them pushed really hard and some punched too. Garret went in a couple times. Then, he took a break after he came out with a bloody mouth and I mean bloody. It was dripping down his cheek and chin.
There was security there and they saw Garret bleeding really badly and they didn’t want blood all over the place, so they brought over some towels that Garret could hold up to his mouth. Eventually the bleeding stopped, but by that time Escape The Fate was off and Madina Lake was on. I liked them a lot too. I had there CD and knew the songs. We listened too there’s for a while. After them, As I Lay Dying played. I heard of them, but never actually heard there music. They were more heavy metal, than punk. Then, Amber Pacific went on. They were also really good. Garret and I hadn’t seen anything unusual yet.
Next, we saw Senses Fail and they were awesome. Garret and I had been waiting for them. We sang along to all of there song and screamed when they did. They really got the crowd going and the mosh pits really got going. I wanted to go in one so bad, but there were some pretty crazy people in there and probably half of them were drunk. Then, The Used came out and everything went by fine until they started singing a song called, “Wake The Dead.” It was really ironic that when they were singing a song about the dead we saw some weird thing.
They were halfway through the song when we noticed something. We weren’t really sure what it was that we saw at first. Then, we sort of made it out. It looked like a demon from Hell. It had red skin and horns sprouting from the side of its head. It had long claws on its hands and feet. It also had a long, skinny red tail with a point at the end. Then, we noticed there were two of them and right at the center of the mosh pit, which was still pretty crazy.
We took our knives out and got ready for this. We were going to be fighting invisible monsters, in the middle of a mosh pit, where real people were going to be trying to push us around. Garret and I sprang into the middle. Immediately, the demons turned their heads towards us and hissed angrily. We tried to hit them with our knives, but right when we there, a large, muscular guy rammed into us. Garret went crashing into me and we both fell down. The people around us helped us and then they went back to moshing. Garret and I worked our way back to the middle and started to go to the demons again. This time we actually made it and started fighting the demons, but they weren’t any easier.
Garret took one and I took the other one. We started slashing at them and we hit them a couple times and that didn’t make them any happier. They started swinging their claws around and Garret and I backed right up into some people. They just pushed as back and pretty hard to. Garret chucked his knife at one of the demons and it hit him in the shoulder. It gave a screech so loud that it had us bending over clutching our ears. Then, Garret tackled the demon and started punching it really hard in the face. The demon sneaked its tail out from under itself and was about to stab Garret in the back.
“Watch out,” I yelled. Garret did a clumsy back-flip off of the body, right when the demon stabbed at him. The tail missed its mark and hit the demon in its own chest. It gave a screech and burst into flames. One left. This one was ready though. It grabbed the knife that was stuck in the shoulder of his friend with his tail and gave an evil grin. Then, he started swinging his tail around. Garret distracted the demon as I tried to sneak around behind it. I managed to get behind it, as the tail came around I slashed and severed the tail. It did one of those piercing screeches again and dived on me. It smiled and magically its claws grew three times as long. It raised its hand and was about to strike, when Garret stabbed a knife into its head and then it burst into flames. We then managed to get out of the mosh pit and went and found Jamie.
“We just fought two demons,” we told her.
“Why didn't you come get me,” Jamie asked.
“It was in the middle of a mosh pit.”
“Oh, I probably wouldn't have come anyway then.” We stayed for the rest of the night, then went back to the hotel. Garret called J.P. and there was no more creatures here. He told us we were going to San Diego next and we would be leaving in the morning. So, we went to bed and then got up in the morning and left to go to San Diego. Once we were there went and checked into our hotel. We were there around mid-afternoon, so we called J.P. to see where we were going in San Diego. He said that there looked like there was a lot of things in the San Diego zoo, so we should check that out tomorrow.
We pretty much just sat around in our room for the rest of the day and watched TV, or ate a snack, since this hotel didn't have a pool. We did just go walk around a little bit outside on the sidewalks just to do something, but that afternoon was pretty much nothing at all. Then,we got up the next morning and went to the San Diego Zoo.
We went and looked at the all the exhibits, but couldn't find anything unusual. We went to the elephants, the giraffes, the monkeys, the birds, and a lot of other exhibits and we couldn't find anything. Then, we decided to go into the reptile house. I always loved the reptile house, ever since I was little. My favorite animal ever was a snake and I loved watching them when I was little.
We walked into the dark building, where tanks of reptiles lined both walls beside us. Then, we got to the snake section. It started out with all the small little snakes and eventually got up to the big snakes. Then, we got to this really big one. We looked at it and it was almost as if it was looking back at us. Then, I swear I saw it's eyes flash, but it must have been just the lighting. They said lets go and I told them I'd catch up with them in a minute.
Then, it started to grow to an immensely huge size. It's teeth grew to about three feet long and it's eyes had a more malevolent look to them. These sharp spines started sprouting out of its back. I started backing up. It got so big that the glass tank it was in was too small. Its body pushed against the glass and it shattered into thousands of pieces. I ran out of the reptile house, where Garret and Jamie were waiting for me outside.
“That snake is a monster,” I told them.
“What you mean,” Jamie said, “We were just I there and it was normal.”
“Yes, but after you left it grew and it's looked scary and spines grew out of its back.”
“Should we go back in?” Garret asked.
“No, it got so big that the glass broke. If we go back in they're going to think we broke the glass.”
“So, should we just wait for it?”
“Yeah, they can't see it. So, it' just going to be wandering around the zoo. So, we're bound to find it at one time.”
We waited to see if it would come out of where we just were, but it didn't. So, then we wandered around the zoo. We couldn't find it anywhere. Then, it was time for them to close the park down, but we didn't leave. We hid in this cluster of bushes that was around near the back of an exhibit and no one found us. It was boring hiding in bushes for an hour or two, doing nothing, not even talking. Then, finally we came out of hiding.
We started walking around the zoo to see if we could find the snake-thing anywhere, but we couldn't. Then, we noticed something. All the other animals where turning into these weird creatures also. What are we supposed to do, I thought. As if Garret could read my mind, he took out this really big bullet and loaded it into the gun. Then, he shot it into the air. When it got high enough, it burst into thousands of pieces. They all rained down on the creatures. The creatures started exploding into flames and soon all of them were.
We walked around and got rid of any of the remaining creatures by shooting them. We still hadn't found the giant snake thing, so we figured maybe it was hit by one of the thousands of pieces of the big bullet. Then, we decided to leave. We were climbing over the locked gate, when we heard a low hiss. We looked around as we were halfway up the gate. Down on the ground below, was the serpent. So, we let go of the gate and fell back to the ground. Then, Garret took out the gun, but the snake was too quick. It lashed its tail out and knocked the gun out of his hand, then it back-swung and knocked him to the ground where he became unconscious. Jamie and I had our knives drawn, so we advanced on the serpent. It lashed its tail around Jamie's wrist, so she was unable to move her hand. I started hacking at its scales, but it didn't work. I'll have to stab it in the mouth, I thought.
I tried moving towards the face, but it kept on striking at me and those fangs were pretty menacing. I tried to fake I couple times to try to get it to strike in the wrong direction, but that didn't work either. Meanwhile, Jamie was working on getting her wrist free from the snake's tail. Then, I had an idea. I propped Garret's body up against a bush in front of the snake. It saw Garret wasn't moving, but didn't know he was unconscious. It opened it's mouth and growled at him. I recovered the gun and while it was eyeing Garret, I loaded it. Then, I snuck around to the front of the snake and shot and shot, loading its mouth full of bullets. It hissed real angrily and disintegrated
“Glad that's over, how long do you thing he'll be out?” I asked motioning to Garret.
“It wasn't that hard of a fall. He'll probably come around soon. That thing really hurt my wrist,” she told me and showed me her wrist. It had this big red mark on it where the skin was really raw. I told her we could look at it when we got back, but first we had to figure out how to get Garret back. We started to wait around until he woke up, but that was taking too long, so Jamie ended up going over and slapping him in the face lightly and that woke him right up.
We told him what happened and said we should probably leave and we started climbing the gate again. This time we actually made it over. I just wondered what would happen in the morning when they found out all their animals were gone. Then, we went back to the hotel and went to our room and fell straight to sleep, since we were so tired.
We called J.P. in the morning and he said everything looked okay so we would be off to our next place which was Hollywood. He also said to be extra careful because that's where he thought Spinner was hanging out. So, we went to Hollywood and we around there in style, since J.P. said we should to fit in. We rode in a long, black limo, which was pretty cool. It had all these lights, an awesome sound system, leather seats and lots of other cool stuff.
Garret and I blasted our music and immediately the driver closed the window between us and him.
We rode around for a while trying to find the hotel. Then, we found it. It was giant, fancy hotel. We walked in and were greeted by an enormous lobby with a giant chandelier. We walked up to he check-in desk and they directed us to our room, which ended up being the presidential suite.
It was awesome. It had a flat-screen TV, a fridge and cupboard filled with snacks and soda, three huge beds, these awesome domed chairs and lots of other sweet things. We were so caught up in everything that we forgot about the mission for a minute. We watched TV for a while and ate and drank out of the fridge and cupboard. Then, we remembered our mission: to go and track down Spinner. We called J.P. and he told us he thought that J.P. was at a studio they were filming at, and said we would have to somehow find a way to get in. That's going to be hard with all the security, I thought.
We had a limo drive us to the studio where they were filming. Then, we tried getting in, but security wouldn't let us. Garret said something about us being part of the movie, but he didn't buy it. Then, Garret started walking so we followed him. He pretended to be walking away, but when he got to the back alley, he quickly scuffled down it and we followed. He took out a grappling hook that I had never seen before and threw it up to the roof. He pulled and it came falling back down. He tried again. This time it caught on. He jumped to see if it would hold his weight and it did. Then, he started climbing.
“We'll have to go one at a time, so it doesn't break from all our weight.” Then, he started climbing up when he motioned down to us, Jamie went up. We had to do this at gym class a school all the time, so I was used to it and I'm sure Jamie and Garret were too. Then, Jamie motioned down to me and I went up. I inched my way slowly at first and then started going faster as I got used to sliding up the rope. Then, when I got to the top, I pulled up the rope and undid the grappling hook. There was no door, or hatch, or anything up there to het into the building. Garret too out his knife just to see if it would cut through metal and surprisingly it cut through it like a knife cuts through butter. When he got to the end of the circle he was making, he grabbed onto it, so it wouldn't slide down through.
After he did that, he took out a flash light and shined it down through the opening. We saw a set of stairs directly below us, so we jumped down onto them. We followed those down to where the balconies above the stage where. They were metal and we went to one in the back and started looking around for Spinner. We watched a couple people filming and we didn't see any sign of Spinner. Then, after a couple more hours, we saw a skinny, but muscular guy come out of the back. There was something about him, almost like a glow around the silhouette of his body.
We waited until everyone left, and then we went into the back. We looked around and around and couldn't find anything unusual. As we were walking, I tripped on something. I went back to see what it was and there was a corner piece of metal sticking up. I grabbed the corner and started to pull up on it. A large metal shaped square piece came up and I motioned to Jamie and Garret. We went over and jumped down into the opening. We landed in a room lit dimly by candles that went down a long hallway. We walked down this long, dark hallway. Then, we noticed a large room ahead.
We stayed up against the wall, so we couldn't be seen and looked around the corner into the room. There was the same guy we saw earlier, so we knew it must be him, if he even had his own secret hideout. We motioned to each other and walked in the room slowly. He had his back to us, so we were trying to sneak up on him. Right when Garret was behind him, he stabbed. As if the guy knew it was coming, he dodged to the side.
“You have found me,” he said, “And I'm sure you know what I've been doing. I'll let you know I'm going to continue doing it too, as soon as I dispose of you three.” Then, these great big wings sprouted out of his back and horns grew out of his head. He grew a tail and sharp, jagged teeth. His nails grew really long and his skin turned a stoney grey. He reminded me of a gigantic gargoyle. We all got ready for what was to come.
He pounced onto Garret and started attacking him with claws, tail and teeth. Garret was hacking anywhere he could with his knife. I jumped onto the creatures back and crawled up to his head. I wrapped one arm around his neck as he tried to shake me off. I didn't stay on too long After a couple minutes, I went flying into the air and then landed heavily on the concrete, which didn't feel too good. I was dazed at first, but then I was fine.
Jamie was also trying to kill the beast, but just hitting it with a knife wasn't working. I thought maybe if I shoot it, it would kill it. I loaded the gun, aimed, and shot. It hit him right in the chest and stunned him for a minute, but it still didn't kill him. Then, Garret kicked it in the face as it was bent over attacking him. It got really mad and wrapped a nail around his lip ring and pulled.
Garret let out the loudest scream I ever heard him do. He was curled up in pain. Blood came running down his chin like crazy. I could see tears in his eyes. Then, he turned towards the beast with eyes of hate.
“You son of a b****,” he said and grabbed his sword. His eyes were burning with anger as blood poured down his chin. He hacked as hard as he could at the beast. It must have started stinging because the beast started backing up. Then, Jamie and I joined Garret and started hacking with all our might too. The beast backed out of it's room and down the hall roaring like crazy.
Then, when we got back to the trapdoor it gave one mighty beat with its wings and vaulted out. We climbed up out of the hole and looked around. We couldn't see him anywhere. Then we heard a noise from above. We looked up and saw he was up on the balconies. We made our way up there and started fighting him again. He kept on retreating backward up the stairs, until eventually we were on the rooftop.
We started battling again up there. We just couldn't beat him. No matter how hard we hit, we couldn't break his skin. I got fed up and threw my knife at him. Surprisingly, it stuck into his wing. He let out a load growl and advanced on me. Jamie and Garret through their knives at him too, since they saw mine stuck in. There knives also stuck into his wings. It gave me a look and charged. I was standing next to the edge, so right when it got to me, I moved out of the way and loaded my gun to shoot it, while it was falling.
As I stepped to the side though, it wrapped its tail around my waist. Suddenly, I was falling with it, but I wasn't going to give up. I shoved half of the gun into its throat and shot. It immediately became silent and still. All I could think of was what was going to happen when I hit the ground, then everything went black.
I woke up in a hospital. As soon as the nurse saw I was stirring she motioned out the door. Jamie came running in and kissed me. Not just a small peck on the cheek either, a long kiss on the lips.
“I missed you so much,” she said.
“How long have I been here?”
“About two days. We're still in California, but you did it you beat Spinner. There's nothing else to fight, so after you get better we can fly back.” Then, Garret walked in. His lip was looking bad, but at least it was healing.
“Good to have you back” he said.
“Good to be back,” I replied.
